Pontesbury

A Personal Memory

by Clive Griffiths

This is a personal recollection of places and memories of Pontesbury from the perspective of Clive Griffiths who has lived in Pontesbury for all of his 85 years.

He remembers electricity and the telephone coming to the community, and recalls many of the unique characters that made the village what it was and is today.

This book offers a slightly different view of Pontesbury as, rather than being historical and factual, it tells its stories through the anecdotes of individuals who lived and worked here.
Anyone who has met Clive will know that he is a rich source of 'tales' and this books pulls together many of these plus many more that you may not have heard.

The Church has always been a very important part of Clive's life and features strongly throughout the book and all proceeds from the sale of each book will go to St George's Church.
