george the dragon
As I write, George, the Little Dragon, is standing on his head in his basket having a big sulk.  He has been allowed out only on Tuesday mornings for the last two weeks and he has found this to be rather dull after enjoying one or two adventures recently; one being when he sneaked a ride up to the primary school in my large handbag and took part in the Assembly.  Fame and fortune seem to have gone to his head and he is watching for opportunities to make the Great Escape quite frequently.

However, as it is the Christmas Tree Festival in a few days he will spend an enjoyable few days watching and listening from his privileged position near to the LD’s tree as visitors enjoy their walk around the church.  He is always totally amazed by all the creative talent that enables people to come up with such wonderful ideas for their trees and cribs.

Then, of course, there will be the Little Dragons’ Christmas Party (our sixth).  George and Uncle Sam will await the special visitor with anticipation.  They are always supremely optimistic that one year they will be lucky enough to receive a gift out of the big, brown sack.

George and Uncle Sam are both ‘glass half full’ personalities.  Some known to them are ‘glass half empty’ people and our two dragons feel that those of the second category miss such a lot of pleasure out of life.  Being optimistic, they find, brings constant hope and good cheer into their lives and they have discovered that expecting the best of people and situations often results in life turning out to be positive, good fun and rather enjoyable.  Their advice to anyone reading this would be, ‘Give it a try.  A big smile and a song in your heart can only add to the world’s joy.’
They send best wishes for a happy and peaceful New Year to all their friends, young and old (and those in the middle).‘
