green dragonThis is George, the Little Dragon communicating with you.  Val, who usually writes this article, has been very busily employed during the past few days which has meant that, apart from attending Little Dragons on Tuesday, she has been unable to do any housework, any Christmas shopping or any work on writing articles for the magazine.

One of the best things about the Festival is that we see lots of people who we don’t normally see – lots of ex-Little Dragons who are now at school but who have come to view all the beautiful trees.

“Oh look!” some of them have called to their friends.  “We can see George, Uncle Sam and the big teddy.”  It’s a great way of meeting up with old friends.  A lot of our present Little Dragons have also visited and have been pleased to see on the tree the angels that they made last week.

angel 1angel 1Speaking of angels – when the twinkling lights have been switched off at the end of the day and everyone has left the building, you might think that it would be cold and lonely here in the church.  When the church is filled with silence, Uncle Sam, Teddy and I listen carefully and we are sure we can hear those angels singing.

“Hark, the Herald Angels Sing!” Uncle Sam whispered on Wednesday evening.  We listened carefully and, yes, we could definitely hear sweet singing.  We think they are celebrating something; something wonderful about Christmastime.  If we listen carefully we think we might learn an exciting story and we may be able to tell the story to all the Little Dragons and to other people who will listen. We think that there is a message there for all the world to hear; a message about peace on earth, forgiveness and love.

We hope that all who come into our church will also hear the angels singing and will know that, just like all of us who are small beings in a big world, we can celebrate the wonder of the story that the angels tell.
