Awaiting our first Little Dragons
Firstly, a big ‘thank you!’ to all those who have supported us so generously in our fund-raising efforts. The cycle and walk ‘biathlon’ raised more than £350. That, together with a donation from the PCC, has enabled us to purchase lots of equipment to stimulate little minds. However, in addition to these purchases, we have been overwhelmed by the terrific generosity of friends and strangers as they have given equipment and toys for our use. Many, many thanks!
Are we going to get anyone?
Today, 12th September, found us awaiting the entrance of our first customers. Promptly at 10:00 a.m. our first Little Dragon roared through the door. The amazement on her face as she viewed the wonderful display of toys and activities was a joy to behold. Within minutes several other customers arrived and the magic really began. We had no idea what to expect either in numbers or participation so were absolutely delighted by the response by our 9 first-timers (8 months to almost 3) accompanied by Mums, a Dad, a Granny and a Grandad.
Well, a bit more practising while we wait
A highlight of the morning was ‘Circle Time’, when all Little Dragons, their carers and Big Dragon helpers sat on cushions to enjoy singing, nursery rhymes and a story. Recent birthdays were celebrated with singing, cards and candles to blow out (lots of volunteers for this last).

Fruit and drinks completed this lovely time before LDs made a final assault on the toys while the biggies enjoyed a cup of coffee.
Circle time
All members of the Under 5s team have looked forward with anticipation to the formation of the Little Dragon group but I don’t think that any of us could have even begun to imagine the enjoyment that we experienced today. So, to reiterate – Many thanks to those who have helped in any way – you are all stars!
