2006 Festival of Christmas Trees & Cribs

Festival of Christmas Trees & Cribs December 2006

Thank you to all people who helped in any way with the festival, those who entered trees, those who visited and of course those who supported it behind the scenes. It was truly a Community Event, and we had nearly 1,000 visitors this year. We hope to clear over £2,000 after expenses.

The market and late opening was a real success, and one we shall do again. It was a very festive time and we have had so many good reports.

The Thursday, when we had over 90 people from residential homes and homes for disabled, was really good. Everyone had a lovely time and really made a good start to the whole thing.

Friday evening, our first late night opening with stalls and so on was second only to Thursday, there was a very Continental feeling sitting in the centre aisle drinking coffee listening to the band and choir.

Thank you to the whole community, you really did make magic.

Watch out for next year, 2007, the 10th anniversary, when we hope to open late on the Friday again and of course we will have the Thursday for the local Residential Homes again.

Here are some more of the 81 trees and cribs from 2006.
